“Normally I wouldn’t do this…”

Daverea.com isn’t a deals site, and we don’t make a habit of advertising anything here. After all, we wouldn’t want your look into the twisty, balled-up inner workings of my gray matter to be distracted by ads! But once in a while, we come across a deal that’s so good, we can’t help but pass it along.

While cruising around the web this morning, I happened upon a new company that aims to compete with paypal in the “send-money-online” business. Revolution Money Exchange doesn’t seem to have any terribly “revolutionary” ideas is a newcomer to the online payment market, at least relative to Paypal (who really blazed the trail in this area, and enjoys a hefty market share as a result), but they do have a legit well-known executive (Ted Leonsis of AOL) at the helm, and a stack of writeups in major publications to garner some street cred. [Update 2008-05-16: Revolutionary ideas? They may not be apparent on RME's face, but when it comes to what's under the hood, and how much of your transactions stay in your pocket, they're a refreshing departure from the Paypal status-quo.]

So what’s the deal? $60 for you is the deal. No strings attached, at no cost. Here’s how to do it:

1. Click on the referral link button, which will take you to the Revolution Money Exchange web site, and list me as your referrer. Hey, it’s the least you could do for me turning you on to a free sixty clams!

Refer A Friend using Revolution Money Exchange

2. Sign up for an account. You’ll need to enter your e-mail, address, social, all the usual stuff you enter when you sign up for a Paypal or bank account. They don’t do any kind of credit check, but they do need your social to comply with PATRIOT act requirements.

Once you’ve signed up for an account, within a few minutes, you’ll see a $25 welcome credit. Click the “Accept” button to add it to your account balance.

3. Next, use the “Refer a friend” link at the bottom to refer your spouse/significant-other. They’ll get an e-mail with a signup link, and once they repeat the process, you’ll get a $10 referral credit. They’ll get the same $25 welcome credit that you did. Between the two of you, that’s $60 – which you can subsequently convert into a nice Mother’s Day dinner.

Right guys?

Thought so.
